Fatal Advice ~ Brandewulf

fatal advice

Surrender not
Your spirit free
To ghost granted wishes
That only lull and dull you
Like some holy heroin trip.

He plucks the sweet ones
Or fills their bodies black.
He breaks beauty into pieces
And moves us as his pawns.
Hallowed be his game.

Face the farce, the harsh,
To accept the part and parcel
Of being. Of beating. Of breathing.
In time we won’t, we’re not,
No matter the rage we wear.

Hands can’t stop hands
That ceaselessly circle
To scrape one more notch.
Presumptive the people
Foolish but boldly holding on.

That table where we sup,
Sprinkled and spread with a
Banquet of ironclad denials,
Is set with a tarnished service
Of life’s collected miseries.

Feeding and feeling full
Replaces true satiation.
Gorged on rotting remains
Of ancient, acrid hyperboles
We pass the poison to the next.

Ever eager. This vessel
Ever less than empty.
No more wait or wander,
Nor wonder what or why.
Just who and when.

  1. Fucking AMAZING! This isn’t the first time your writing left me consumed with envy. It’s definitely my favourite of yours so far.. You really went all out with your first original piece for MP. It is Bold, deliciously complex and unnerving. Perfection.

  2. I am officially in love!!! I will confess, I read this whilst it waited in the wings and I swooned. I love every frikken thing about it! And now, now when I need to tell you how amazing it is I have only stupid words, boring words, dull words. I am that cliched teenage girl giggling in front of a rock star whilst penning Mrs Rock Star on everything she owns. Thank you so much for sharing this magnificent piece.

    • Wow…what a freaking compliment. Your words here are not even close to being stupid nor boring. It is one of the most amazing compliments I have ever received about my writing.

      You’re making me blush. 😊

    • Thank you so much, Tanya. I love your reactions to some of my poems. I didn’t know you had not seen this one when I posted it as my debut poem for Morality Park.

I think I might want to put a Tanya disclaimer on some poems…”Do not read while eating, drinking, or wearing clothes.”

    • It was my debut poem at MP, and they decided to repost it this week. There are a few people I have heard from on the repost that must have missed it the first time.

Thank you, Billy. There was definitely fuel behind this one. And it was dark fuel.
